Darlina became the first slammer to win TWO Slams on the FHS era. Looks like she might be a shoe-in for nationals. How exactly did she do it? Well, chances are she read some poems about being a woman. But you can check it out for yourself here.

Slam 01/26/10
February 3, 2010History was made on the first slam of 2010 as little Jen Shugert finally ended a long string of second place efforts, which began in 1996 when she was first runner up for Little Miss Crackhead USA, and came on top of a slam for the first time in her now illustrious career that expands a couple of decades… on the week of her 29th birthday no less!

Slam 12/29/09
January 1, 2010Our final slam of ‘09 was by far the best one of the year! McKinnley hosted and fourteen slammers joined in the celebration, including the return of Twain and his stuck-in-the-county-jail-while-turning-4o-something poem! The slamming was rocking, the audience kicked ass and the judges were tough little puckered-up assholes, just the way we love ‘em! Seven slammers made it to the second round and four of them survived to get to the third round, but only Nancy reigned supreme at the end. All hail the current queen of slam!

Open Mic @ Percolator 11/03/09
November 11, 2009
Our second Open-Mic from our second coming came and went. Attendance was not what we expected, so we need to get better at that, and we need your support. We premiered Story Time: 5-minute slots in which people can take over the mike in order to relate a story of importance to them, something funny that may have happened or even the opening chapter to their work-in progress novel. Some people liked it, some people did not, but most of us loved it so we will definitely do it again, but we do need more of you to show up, even if you’re not sharing your poetry or your stories show up and support us and the performers, WE NEED TO KEEP THIS GROWING!
